About Us

Olympians Chris and Gabby Adcock are GB’s leading Mixed Doubles badminton team who are European and Commonwealth Champions. They are currently the fourth highest ranked Mixed Doubles pair in the world.

Training under the guidance of their coach Pete Jeffrey at the National Badminton Centre, they have been based in Milton Keynes since 2007.

Following their marriage in Harrogate in September 2013, the Adcocks went on to win the prestigious Hong Kong Open, beating on their way the reigning Olympic mixed doubles champions in the semi final. The following summer they enjoyed their finest hour when they won gold for England in the mixed doubles at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, and silver in the combined team event. They then won the Badminton World Federation Super Series Masters Final in Dubai a year later, becoming the first ever Britons to win such an illustrious title.

Having competed at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games, the couples’ aim now is to become Olympic champions and to make it to the top of the world rankings, and you can follow them on their journey to reach the top of their sport and achieve their dreams on this website.

“We’re hoping this website will give our fans, who we’re eternally grateful for, the chance to really get a behind-the-scenes look at what our lives are really like, and we’re excited to offer up an honest and real account of what goes in to succeeding as elite athletes.”

Badminton is definitely in my blood – my granddad handed me my first racket at the age of four and I never looked back. I first represented Great Britain when I was just 10 and all three of my brothers also play badminton! We’re a competitive lot. I was born in Leicester but my family moved to Nottingham when I was one. At 18, I decided to move to Milton Keynes so I could focus on my badminton career.

My family has always been sporty and from the ages of five to 12 I did everything from long distance running to ballet. My love of badminton started when I was seven; I was watching my sister Jessica play at an afterschool club and the coach asked me if I wanted a go. I was hooked! It’s been part of my life ever since. When I was 11, I was training 2/3 hours, four days a week with tournaments most weekends. I grew up in Leeds but moved to Milton Keynes when I was 16 to be close to the National Badminton Centre.
